We are affiliated with Life Echo from UK

We are pleased to announce that we are affiliated with Life Echo from the UK. Their research focuses on sound and memory to stimulate learning and well-being.

Thank you, Justin Wiggan, founder of Life Echo, for introducing this groundbreaking project & partnering with T.E.A.๐Ÿ™

With this tool children will get the opportunity to experience a positive personalized “soundscape” that is created from images and sounds present in their lives...

We successfully introduced the first programme called Spark to our Youth Empowerment Service (Y.E.S). Children were asked to think of a sound that makes them happy. Instead of their names, these sounds will be played at the registration to increase their well-being. Their response was very positive and encouraging and we are already looking forward to continuing to explore the world of sounds....

Donate Your Old Laptops

We are looking for IT equipment, especially laptops, for our Youth Board and our Tiny T.E.A. pre-school TEAchers. We support sustainability, so we don't mind if it's second-hand. ♻️

If you are planning to throw yours out or you know anyone who has some second-hand laptops, please get in touch with us and give your used equipment a second life.

Your donation goes a long way and will support our projects to help underprivileged children.

Thank you for your valuable contribution. ๐Ÿ™

International Day of Happiness

Today is International Day of Happiness and we would like to share a little story with you.

A lesson on happiness from an African tribe:

"Happiness is laughing together. Sadness is crying alone.“

Once a scientist proposed a game for African aboriginal children. He placed a basket of sweets near a tree. He had the children stand 100 metres away from the tree. It was announced that whoever reaches there first will get all the sweets in the basket. He said: „Ready, steady, go!"

Do you know what these kids did? They all held each other’s hands and ran together towards the tree, dividing the sweets evenly among themselves and enjoyed the sweets.

When the scientist asked them why they did so, they replied: "Ubuntu.“ They said: "How can one be happy when others are sad?“

Ubuntu is an African philosophy. It means: "I am because we are.“

Let’s all share happiness and some "ubuntu" so everyone can be happy!

Watch : Laughing Yoga by Kapila Rasnayake

On this occasion we would like to once more share the video on laughter yoga with you that our supporter Kapila Rasnayaka kindly donated to us. We also shared it with our children and they had a lot of fun. So let's laugh and be happy together!

Sound Healing Therapy by Dheeshana

Dheeshana Ameresekere, the Managing Director of Theva Residency - Kandy in Hanathana and our long-term partner, is also experienced in sound healing and yoga. We are grateful that she visited us to conduct a sound healing session for our Tiny T.E.A.'s Children who were very interested and concentrated. And what is more important, they were noticeably relaxed and happy during the session.

Thanks ๐Ÿ™ Dheeshana, for your ongoing support and sharing your talents with us.

Thank You - Racheal & Carl

On behalf of our wonderful TEAm we would like to express our gratitude to the founders Racheal and Carl and their selfless effort to make The T.E.A. Project grow into what it is today – The Cloud, our Centre for Children’s Empowerment – that gives children a voice, a safe place to learn and the possibility to make use of their rights.

Racheal and Carl recently handed their lifework over to the people of Sri Lanka. With this step the T.E.A. Project opens a new chapter ๐Ÿ“–  A chapter of more growth with more children to benefit in the future. The founders will further guide the project with their vision from afar.

We wish Racheal and Carl all the best for their future plans. We will truly miss you on site but your dream lives on with The T.E.A.Project and the excellent TEAm you recruited.

Words are not enough to express our thanks for what you have done over the years ๐Ÿ™

International Women's Day

'International Women's Day' is a remarkable day to be celebrated. ✌️

Yes ! We did it with our amazing children @ The Cloud.

Our wonderful TEAm discussed about the importance of Women's Day & current issues that women face.

Children were really interested as they had role play on gender equality & activity on career opportunities for women.

It was inspiring to watch the video presentation of successful women in the world.

A big thank to more than 60 participated children and the TEAm members to make this event a special one ๐Ÿ™

Happy Women’s Day!

A woman in any form shall be celebrated and honoured, be it, a sister or a wife or a mother or any other form. Wishing you a Happy Women’s Day! Thank you for all the support and sacrifices made towards changing the world to a better place!
